HSC Introduces New Versions of SCX1000A-3 and SCX1800A-3

Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Cranes Co., Ltd. (HSC) announced the launch of two new crawler crane models – SCX1000A-3 and SCX1800A-3, equipped with a new-generation torque limiter system and various advanced safety features – in May 2024.

KEY FEATURES

1. Enhanced Safety

The two new crane models are equipped with an improved torque limiter featuring a large 12.1-inch touchscreen display, offering superior visibility and operation. The user-friendly interface integrates new sensors, directly displaying parameters such as:

• Counterweight specifications
• Ground pressure
• Tilt and deviation indicators

To ensure worker safety when operating on the crane, safety handrails on walkways have been standardized, and access areas to and from the machine have also been significantly improved.

2. Environmentally Friendly

The cranes utilize a Cummins B6.7 engine that meets EU Stage V emission standards, ensuring clean operation and optimal fuel efficiency. Additionally, it integrates fuel-saving features such as:

• ECO winch mode
• Auto idle stop function

The engine also supports operation with biodiesel fuel (BDF; B20) and hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO).

3. Optimized Operator Comfort

The cabin is designed with the operator’s experience in mind:

• Heated operator seat with a low headrest, suitable for operators wearing hard hats
• New heat-insulating glass for the skylight, blocking over 90% of UV and infrared rays, keeping the cabin cooler and more comfortable

4. Improved Synchronized Winch Operation System

(Only for winches with a rated load of 13.5 tons – optional)The upgraded hydraulic system, combined with an optional rotary sensor, allows for more precise synchronization of movement between the front and rear winches – especially effective for operations such as vibratory hammer operation.
