Causes of Signal Loss in Concrete Pump Controller

15/10/2025

Modern concrete pump vehicles are often integrated with remote wireless control technology. This allows operators to observe and perform operations easily while the machine is in operation.

However, there are many issues that customers often encounter when using the remote control for concrete pump. For example:

– Unable to adjust the concrete flow rate according to job requirements.

– Unable to quickly increase or decrease the throttle.

– Even within a radius of 50m, operators still face difficulties controlling the up, down, out, and fold actions of the boom.

CASES OF SIGNAL LOSS IN THE CONCRETE PUMP CONTROLLER

To avoid dangerous risks and ensure work efficiency, operators need to understand the causes of the above issues.

Not only Chinese concrete pumps but even genuine vehicles from Germany can lose connection if the controller is not used correctly.

1. Control operation position too far from the pump equipment

The ideal range for performing control operations with the concrete pump controller is about 150m. However, it also depends on the working environment conditions.

2. Continuous signal loss due to interference

In some cases, even when the operator is only about 20m away from the pump, unstable connection may occur due to continuous signal loss.

This phenomenon often occurs when the equipment is operating in special environments such as:

– In military zones where signals are often jammed.

– Near strong mobile phone transmission towers.

– There are too many large obstacles between the pump and the operator.

– Operating near high-voltage areas with strong magnetic fields.

Technology in the HBC remote:

DECT technology: Smart channel selection mechanism: DECT uses an automatic channel selection mechanism to avoid interference and signal conflicts from other sources. This ensures that operators can always use a free frequency channel without interference from other noisy signals. Digital encryption mechanism: DECT uses a digital encryption mechanism to protect data from external interference. This enhances security and ensures that transmitted information is not contaminated by noisy sources. Stability and reliability: DECT provides a stable and reliable wireless connection, allowing operators to use the equipment or system continuously without interruption due to frequency interference or environmental factors. Wide operating range: DECT has a wide operating range, allowing operators to move in a large area without worrying about losing connection.

AFH (Adaptive Frequency Hopping): The AFH (Adaptive Frequency Hopping) technology is used in DECT to automatically select frequencies within the 2.4 GHz band, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity when working in areas with many radio waves or interference from other sources. AFH operates by scanning and automatically selecting empty and less noisy frequency channels for data transmission. When encountering interference from other radio signals in the area, AFH will automatically switch to other frequency channels without affecting data transmission.

Applications:

+ Precise control, strong transmit/receive signals, buttons, knobs… with realistic feedback.

+ Control all operations up, down, out, and fold the boom.

+ Control the concrete pump system: increase or decrease throttle, pump out, suck back, adjust the concrete flow rate according to project requirements.

+ Turn on and off and standby mode for the pump remotely.

+ Durability of over 10 years of use.

+ Suitable for Everdigm concrete pumps and other manufacturers with compatible specifications.
